We are New Look

When we first opened our doors in 1969, our aim was simple – to create a line of on-trend clothes at affordable prices. And ever since, we've done just that. We believe in fashion for all. Because of this, we've gone from strength to strength.

  • We have over 600 stores in the UK, many of which are going through refurbishment programmes.
  • We have two Support Centres, one in London and one in Weymouth, with our distribution site based in Lymedale.
  • We have over 100 stores internationally – with plenty more store openings planned in the next three years.

Working to better our environment

We're striving to improve energy efficiency for our stores in the UK and Eire. By adapting lighting and air conditioning systems we've saved over 6,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

And our store managers have played a huge part in this too – over 2,800 tonnes of CO2 were saved simply through lowering overnight lighting.

We've been working hard to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill from our offices and stores in the UK. In 2011, we recycled 71% of all waste from our UK stores, up from 64% in 2010.

And in addition to improving store recycling rates, we continued to push our waste backhauling programme, via our UK distribution centre's on-site recycling facilities. We recycled a total of 4,195 tonnes of cardboard and plastic, generating additional revenue of £394,775 for the business.

Working to better our world

We offer great value to our customers. But we also have ethical values for our suppliers, our employees, and the people who make our products. Ethical trading is central to how we work, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

For example, sandblasting is a technique that gives denim a faded look. It involves the use of chemicals which pose a huge health risk to operators. Because of this, we've banned sandblasting on all our product lines and created a new, safer way to create the same look.

We also work to improve the lives of people who work in our Indian factories. Many garment workers throughout the country have no access to banks. This means they're forced to carry their wages with them, which is unsafe. Geosansar is a company that, working together with us, sets up safe, work-based bank accounts, and offers workers financial advice too. The initiative has been in place for over a year and is seeing great results.
